Attendance tickets this week are orange, and Mrs. Treanor has them cut and ready for you to pick up in the office.

Please remember to let the office know when you are going to be gone, and who the guest sub is going to be. Not only does that help ensure we have coverage both in the classroom and for duties, but also so we make sure we have a time card for the guest sub.

Not only is this a great reminder for us, but also for students. So true:

This is a short article about the importance of teaching kids how to listen. It's not just hearing. Speaking and listening common core standards are really important to address throughout the school day, and to integrate with all content areas. Listening is also a soft skill that will be useful in whatever career a student chooses to pursue in the future:

The Role of Genuine Listening in Communication

This is a great thought that would also be great to share and discuss with students. Leaders are listeners, and even children are leaders. Think of the playground! Listening is an important soft skill:

You might be the first smile they see or you might be the one who says the first kind word they hear for the day. You are important:

Mrs. Treanor has attendance tickets cut and ready for you to pick up in the office, and they are lilac color this week.

Please talk with K-2 students about waiting until an adult lets them know that there is an adult outside to watch them for lunch recess, 11:45. They should stay seated eating their lunch until 11:45.
